An Employer Reference differs from a character reference as it will be taken from a previous employer rather than someone from outside the workplace.

With each check, the employer will be asked to provide a statement or letter that speaks to the candidate's performance as an employee. This can vary from a singular reference from a previous employer, or a reference from every workplace for the last ten years. This will enable you to best understand a candidate's track record in employment.
