Digital ID - What is it & How does it work?
We believe that digital is essential for an efficient and streamlined screening process. That's why we offer comprehensive Digital Identity solutions that go beyond traditional methods. From Right to Work Checks to ID Verification and DBS Checks, we ensure a seamless, quick, and accurate verification process, which benefits both employers and candidates at no additional fee.
Historically, a persons identity would have to be checked by the employer in person with the candidate's original ID documents. This was a time consuming process that quite often stalled the hiring process and required additional resources to manage this part of the onboarding journey. We have partnered with Mitek to conduct Digital ID checks to streamline the process for our clients and candidates. Conducting an ID check proves the legitimacy of a candidate by using biometric, facial recognition software in conjunction with documentation to confirm the candidate's identity. Candidates simply complete the online screening form to provide us with the information we need in order to digitally verify their ID, they are then directed to Mitek where they will upload their documents and complete a liveness ('selfie') check. A report will be produced confirming the authenticity of the candidate’s identity document and the level of confidence in the reading.
In cases where digital verification cannot be completed, due to a candidate not having a document that can be tested digitally, a manual verification process is undertaken using a combination of candidate and public data to verify their identity.
Digital Identity enhances the accuracy of background checks by providing a broader overview of an individual's past. It includes traditional verification methods and also scrutinises online and digital footprints for a more complete information set. Digital Identity verification can also prevent employment fraud by validating an individual's credentials and identity through online databases, reducing the risk of identity theft, falsified credentials, or misleading employment histories.
