Digital Right to Work Check

A Right to Work Check determines whether a candidate is legally permitted to work in the UK. It is important that Right to Work checks are completed correctly as the consequences of getting them wrong could be costly. An incorrectly conducted check could lead to fines, criminal liability, damaged reputations and closure orders.

A Right to Work check must be part of the screening process for all applicants, no matter their origin. Employers cannot only perform Right to Work checks on a handful of applicants as this is deemed as discrimination.

When completing this check, only a passport, birth certificate or Immigration Status Documents are accepted forms of identification. For a full, detailed list of acceptable documents, click here.
